How to spend your CSR fund wisely
As per the new company law Section 135 (http://www.mca.gov.in/Ministry/pdf/CompaniesActNotification2_2014.pdf), all the companies that have net profit of more than 5 crs over the past three are stipulated spend 2% of their net profits on CSR projects. The studies indicated that over 25,000 Crores of CSR fund is available for the welfare of society. However, many firms are still contemplating where to put their money and how to monitor the impact of the spent.

Gujarat Road and Infrastructure company Limited, a subsidiary of IL&FS have deployed it's CSR budget to provide the sanitation i.e. wastewater treatment facility at the tribal village Jambudiyapura.

Our Vision Earthcare Team in Conjunction with Clearford have commissioned a unique project providing total sanitation solution to the villagers. This CSR initiative has provided  water block (Bathroom, Toilet, Washing Area) along with a Small Bore Sewerage system (solid free type wastewater pipeline network) including the SBT based sewage treatment plant. The Project started in 2015 has been commissioned in early Jan 2016 and has been running for the last 6 months. Recent test reports from a third party lab has shown the best results as stated below :

Parameters     Inlet  to CAMUS-SBT   Outlet to CAMUS- SBT
 TDS 1262 <10
 COD 422 35.17
 BOD 131 <5.0
 NH3 51.41 <1
 D.O  <1 8.2
  PH 7.5   7.99

It is evident that the BOD is less than 5 and this is a high quality treated water that can re-used for irrigation, washing and flushing activities.  Thus, CAMUS-SBT is a proven technology that can be provide the sustainable sanitation to the world. It is an indigenous technology to contribute to the make in India, Swatch Bhart and Smart city initiatives.
